The Guardian must also be, over the age of 18 and, a full member of the Society.

*NOTE:* In accordance with Section 2.2.5 of the Constables Handbook:

The 6 monthly periods referred to above, are to be from 01 Jan to 30 June and 01 July to 31 Dec (ie: a person that attends and signs their indemnity form on the 3rd of March, enters their dates to participate as being 03/03/2009 to 30/06/2009)

At each training or practice, attendees that have signed and submitted a current indemnity for that 6 month period, are to sign an attendance sheet (this requirement can be waived if monies are receipted for each attendee).

Collected forms must be maintained by the group Constable or, at their delegation, the Marshal-In-Charge or a Constable-At-Large, for the 6 month period. Standard storage procedures apply, see section 7 of the Constables Handbook. (The exception to this, is Target Archery practices which are conducted at, and in conjunction with an Archery Club, providing the SCA member is covered by that clubs own insurance policy)

For other exceptions as to collecting Indemnities, see Section 2.2.4 of the Constables Handbook.

AUSTRALIA ONLY Independent Minors

Without a parent or guardian present, a minor cannot be allowed to
participate in our activities without supporting paperwork, otherwise
we and our officers may end up vulnerable to legal claims from the
minor or their parents. Therefore, the minimum requirement is any ONE
of the following:
a) A designated guardian who is physically present, and who has
produced a signed Transfer of Guardianship letter, per the
Constabulary website
OR
b) A Court-granted emancipation order sighted by the SCAA Board,
after which the minor will be granted adult membership status if they
take out membership, and a specially-marked Minor membership card
will be  issued for that purpose
OR
c) Statutory declarations along the lines of those required by
CentreLink (http://www.centrelink.gov.au) must be sighted by the SCAA
Board, after which the approach noted in (b) will be taken.

At a minimum, the Board would require a declaration from the minor, and
two from any of their school principal, counsellor or teacher, or
other authority such as police, which affirm and explain the minor's
independent status. The Board reserves the right to ignore any
declarations they deem inadequate, or to request further declarations
if they see fit.
