The main sub-groups in Lochac are Baronies. While all groups (including the Kingdom) are managed administratively by the Seneschal, a Barony is headed by Barons and Baronesses, in the same way as the Kingdom is headed by Kings and Queens. As a result, there is a certain level of pomp and ceremony attached to Baronies, and as a result there are metrics gathered and measured for the Baronies in the Kingdom:
- Baronage: Landed Barons and Baronesses of Lochac – the current ceremonial heads of the Baronies of Lochac.
- Baronial History – the lists of all Barons and Baronesses in Lochac’s history.
- Baronial Terms – statistical information about the length of Baronial tenure in Lochac.
Please note: We sometimes refer to these as “Landed Baronies” as there are “Court Baronies”, which more closely match the concept of a courtier. They are also called Barons and Baronesses but are not the heads of any groups.
